Healers in the snow on Lansdown, Bath, BA1 during a healing sunset
with fellow healers
I was initiated into Reiki healing at the age of 28 by Chris Parkes (Reiki master) in February 1997 and completed the training along with fellow healers in June '97.

At the time this seemed a world apart to me as, only two years before, I had completed nearly 8 years military service flying front-line helicopters for the Royal Navy. Whilst I enjoyed the challenge of active-service life, (including working with the United Nations in Bosnia 93-94), there was a perpetual sense of higher perspective and a yearning for deeper meaning. As a result I left military service in 1995 and soon found myself living and working at the International Zen Centre in Fukuyama, Japan. It was during my time in the Zen Monastery that I became aware of an ability to work with energy. It took a full year for me to decide to investigate this further.

In the early days of healing I would practice as a healer anywhere the need arose and, as such, I have experience of working with healing energy in a vast range of environments from the quietly serene, to noisy and even dangerous (I was in Kosovo in 1999 at the end of the crisis.)

A year of so later I worked with a client who had suffered some extremely serious emotional trauma. The success of those sessions was unprecedented, and from that point the form of the healing changed profoundly. Since then, I have been able to work with the energy to greater and greater depth for people who need it. I also make candles to support myself, and the healing work. Like the healing, I make them in an environment of calm & serenity. They are pure beeswax and are available from my candle website. Clients will often take candles away with them to support them after their sessions, or between sessions.

When I'm not working: I'm a UKCC-qualified Level 2 coach in canoeing; I still hold a pilots licence; and I make my favourite hot chocolate with cayenne pepper, salt, hazelnut milk, & maple syrup! :)
